Earth Day opening at Hotchkiss K8 Garden

Earth Day opening at Hotchkiss K8 Garden

I feel like today has been a long time coming! A group a dedicated parents, teachers,  volunteers and some funding from the Kampe Foundation has brought a school garden to Hotchkiss K8. The school now has a total of twelve 4×8 raised beds, five 2×8 beds and six triangle shaped beds that I do not know the size of. We planted two plum trees today in honor of Earth Day, Mrs. Stein was our with her guitar with the 3rd grade classes who sang “Dirt made my lunch” to the rest of the school. It was a great afternoon that made me proud to part of our little community.
