Families on the Farm will start it’s seventh season in June 2017! Last year we began offering our program to the general public- space is limited, so please sign up soon. Working with our friends at Thistle Whistle Farm and partnering with The Delta Family Literacy Program, we’ve provided over 50 families with farm-based nutrition education, growing instruction, children’s activities and organic vegetables and starts to take home every session.
The 2017 program will start with an introductory presentation in mid May. Interested families will take home seedlings and instruction to start their own garden at home. This year we will be focusing on early, middle and late season harvests with three-day, on-farm programming that begins in late June. All programs start at 9am and commence at 12 noon. Participants will take home recipes, new ideas, vegetables, herbs and a sample from the days’ lesson.
- Early Season – June 27, 28, 29
- Middle Season – August 15, 16, 17
- Late Season- October 17, 18, 19
